Almost nineteen years ago, I found myself in a similar situation as many of you are finding yourself today. I had a new baby, I had to go back to work, and I had to find someone that I could trust to take care of my precious baby boy. I found a wonderful place with unbelievably kind workers and I tried to leave my baby at daycare. I cried my eyes out for over a week and finally decided to ask the director if she would hire me to work at her center so I wouldn’t have to leave my baby every day. Much to my great pleasure, she gave me a job.
I worked at that wonderful facility for nine years, and finally left to try my hand as a Director of Head Start for an inner city community center. I had many fantastic experiences during my five years with Head Start. I saw some pretty sad things too.
My family and I moved from Lexington back to Madison County four years ago, and I decided to find employment in Richmond. I became Assistant Director for a local facility, and it was there, that I realized the overwhelming need for more, quality, facilities in Richmond.
I resigned from my job in July 2005, and began the whirlwind process that has now become, Kids Kingdom Child Care Center.
Our facility was built on the fact that parents need a safe, loving and nurturing place to leave their children while they are away at work. My staff and I have become a close knit group of friends, with a mission for service to families and children. We would love for you to stop by and say hello, and take a minute to get to know us.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
